Langhorne, PA, May 19, 2014 – ISS Solutions, a Geisinger Health System business and leading provider of customized technology lifecycle management solutions to healthcare, government, education, and commercial clients throughout the United States, Canada, and Australia, announced today the acquisition of Biomedical Technology, Inc. (BTI) of Morgantown, West Virginia. Since 1989, BTI has been delivering delivering clinical engineering services to acute care hospitals, surgery centers, clinics and other healthcare organizations in West Virginia and surrounding states.
Peter Brooks, CEO of ISS Solutions, stated, “It has been my pleasure to get to know Bruce Andrews over the past few years. Bruce shares ISS Solutions’ commitment to developing long-term relationships with clients and delivering outstanding services. We are proud to continue the good work Bruce has done in creating and building a West Virginia-based company that values service excellence.” The acquisition of BTI supports ISS Solutions’ strategy to expand its service area throughout the Eastern United States. The company, headquartered in Pennsylvania, currently delivers clinical engineering services to clients in over 22 states from Minnesota to Maine to South Carolina.
As consolidations and changes take place in the United States healthcare market, Bruce Andrews, President of BTI, decided that his employees and clients would be better served by joining a larger, independent service organization. After finding ISS Solutions, a Geisinger Health System business, Bruce knew that he had found the right match. Mr. Andrews stated, “I was impressed that a leading healthcare organization like Geisinger Health System owned and operated a clinical engineering services business that served over 200 clients in overlapping territories with BTI. ISS Solutions already had clients in West Virginia. They wanted to expand, and I wanted to be able to leverage the strength and assets of a larger organization to better serve my clients and take care of my employees. 100% of BTI’s employees are now ISS Solutions team members. ISS Solutions' service culture was similar to BTI’s, and I was impressed with their continuum of supported technologies, from basic biomedical equipment to the most advanced imaging equipment utilized at leading healthcare organizations.”
Mr. Brooks further stated, “Continuing service delivery to BTI’s clients will be smooth. Not only were all BTI employees offered position at ISS Solutions, we are pleased that Bruce Andrews has decided to stay with us as a Regional Director for years to come. Bruce’s relationships with existing employees and clients will make this a smooth transition.”
