I consistently research vendors for best parts and service pricing and track all parts request work orders to ensure that we only use next day shipping when absolutely necessary, as part of an effort to save on cost without sacrificing Point of Service,” said Joe Blackwell, ISS Solutions District Operations Manager.

Joe applies his planning and organizing skills to all parts of his work. When a healthcare provider needed to replace their patient monitoring system, Joe got right to work. He arranged an opportunity for vendors to pitch to the healthcare provider’s staff and supplied the staff with scorecards to rate each vendor. Based on the data from the cards, ISS Solutions helped the healthcare provider identify their first choice of the vendors. Then Joe negotiated the contract on the healthcare provider’s behalf.

“Joe’s focus on quality patient care through proper equipment maintenance, support, and compliance of CE devices at Regional Medical Center (RMC) and all his clients has allowed ISS Solutions to grow existing accounts and gain new business opportunities,” said Tom DeNoville, Senior Director of Clinical Engineering. “Joe’s areas of responsibility rank in the top 1% on performance measures related to PM Completion / Compliance and Work Order Completion Metrics for ISS Solutions Non-Geisinger Clinical Engineering.”

Joe joined ISS Solutions in 2012 as a BMET Intermediate. He earned his advanced BMET certifications while he served in the military and has also taken courses at Schoolcraft College. He is a member of the Healthcare Technology Management Association of South Carolina (HTMA SC), the Healthcare Technology Management Association of Georgia (HTMS GA), the North Carolina Biomedical Association (NCBA), and the Georgia Biomedical Instrumentation Society (GBIS).  Outside of work, Joe is a high school wrestling coach and enjoys hunting and fishing.
