ISS Solutions Assists West Virginian Hospitals’ Merger
Thomas Health System is comprised of Thomas Memorial Hospital and St. Francis Hospital, two South Charleston,West Virginia healthcare organizations. After a 2007 merger, the newly-formed Thomas Health System had to decide how to meet their new and different clinical engineering needs.
Although ISS Solutions had previously provided clinical engineering services to Thomas Memorial Hospital, some decision-makers weren’t sure if ISS Solutions could handle the larger, more complex health system.
Thomas Health System’s trust in ISS Solutions paid off. Not only did ISS Solutions seamlessly take on the increase in biomedical equipment, but it also began to provide diagnostic imaging equipment services for the healthcare system. ISS Solutions helped by providing integrated clinical engineering services for the two hospitals, making the merger easier on everyone.
They were even on-board the planning and opening of Thomas Health System’s $70 million new Clinical Pavilion in 2010. “The ISS Solutions team helped us to select and install new equipment,” said Thomas Health System Chief Operating Officer Dan Lauffer. “They trained our employees and educated us about equipment care.”
Thomas team members appreciate that ISS Solutions took care of all of the expanded health system’s clinical engineering needs.
