ISS Solutions' Clinical Engineering Employees Enjoy Annual Meeting
Recently, ISS Solutions’ clinical engineering technicians gathered at the 26th Annual Clinical Engineering Employee Meeting at a mountainside hotel close to parent organization Geisinger Health System’s Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania campus. The meeting is held twice in order to allow all CE technicians a chance to attend while simultaneously guaranteeing smooth CE coverage for ISS Solutions’ clients. This year, 157 employees enjoyed a variety of activities and presentations.
On the day before each meeting, during the Pre-Meeting Training and Activities, ISS Solutions’ CE team members got a chance to attend training sessions for everything from defibrillators and portable X-Ray machines to anesthesia equipment and PC networking. Team members even got to tour Geisinger Northeast-GWV Medical Center’s clinical engineering shop and Medical Equipment Recovery program and warehouse, in which some clinical engineering ISS Solutions employees work. Colleagues from across the country ended the first evening by sharing a meal at a special social event in the hotel ballroom. Because ISS Solutions has a clinical engineering presence in twenty-two U.S. states, this is a treasured day for employees from all over America to meet one another and develop new friendships, as well as learn together.
On the day of the meeting, ISS Solutions’ CE participants learned about ISS Solutions’ CE work within various U.S. regions; they also attended broader sessions which focused on ISS Solutions’ general clinical engineering direction, industry trends, and leadership. Speeches of note included CEO Peter Brooks’ address on the company’s financial progress and plans for growth, and newest Executive Team member Vice President of Quality & Logistics Barbara Maguire’s speech on ISS Solutions’ sourcing, dispatch, and quality.
During a yearly favorite event, the Award Ceremony, the management team presented Service Awards and Recognition to clinical engineering employees who have committed years of service excellence to healthcare clients through their work at ISS Solutions.
Everyone enjoyed the final event. Metamorphosis Performing Group, an acting troupe, put on a comedic show called “Professional Behaviors for Successful Results,” in which they acted out business scenarios for educational (and humorous) purposes. On a whole, the 2011 ISS Solutions Clinical Engineering Employee Meeting was a success because, as Mr. Brooks said, “It provides the perfect opportunity for employees to expand their skills and knowledge while meeting fellow team members, since our team is now located throughout twenty-two states and does not always have the opportunity to interact. At the ISS Solutions Clinical Engineering Employee Meeting, we celebrate not only our past year of success, but also the many that lie ahead of us.”
