2010 Clinical Engineering Employee Meeting Features Outside Speakers and Technical Training
ISS Solutions recently held its annual clinical engineering employee meeting at parent organization Geisinger Health System’s headquarters in Danville, Pennsylvania. New employees participated in a tour and orientation of the nationally-recognized health system.
The meeting provided educational opportunities for all employees. Topics covered included specialty technical training and management development training. Dan Lauffer, chief operating officer of ISS Solutions client Thomas Health System, presented how important a relentless focus on patient safety and exemplary customer service are for successful healthcare organizations.
ISS Solutions CEO Peter Brooks said, “Since ISS Solutions’ clinical engineering employees are spread throughout many states, from New Hampshire to Florida to Michigan, bringing the team together allows employees to interact, share some meals and stories, and learn from one another. It also provides ISS Solutions management an opportunity to express gratitude for a job well-done.”
The meeting included an awards ceremony, held each year to recognize employees for their years of service. Each year, ISS Solutions usually has more than one to recognize with over 20 years experience. ISS Solutions CEO Peter Brooks gave an overview of clinical engineering and corporate performance in the fiscal year ended June 30, 2010, as well as a preview of future goals.
The meeting concluded with a motivational speech by adventurer and business educator Roy Smith, who related his mountain climbing experiences to how people, teams, and businesses can benefit from working together and having a positive attitude. He also inspired the attendees with his stories of overcoming adversity to achieve what seem to be unreachable goals.
